Assembly Faculty Spotlight: Tracey O’Connor, MD

The Southern Medical Association (SMA) is proud to feature Tracey O'Connor, as a speaker for the Association's 117th Annual Scientific Assembly taking place November 13-15, 2025 in New Orleans.

Tracey O’Connor, MD, serves as an Associate Member in the Department of Breast Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. She earned her medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biological Sciences at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. Her postgraduate training includes an internal medicine residency at Strong Memorial Hospital, part of the University of Rochester Medical Center, and a fellowship in medical oncology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York. Prior to joining Moffitt, Dr. O’Connor held the position of Associate Professor of Oncology at Roswell Park and was also a Clinical Associate Professor at SUNY Buffalo. She specializes in the clinical management of breast cancer and focuses her research on identifying and addressing treatment-related toxicities. Her work places particular emphasis on strategies to improve treatment tolerability, especially among older adults with breast cancer.
