September 16, 2020 // Randy Glick

Join us at the 2020 Southern Regional Assembly as Kevin Hartman, MD presents this important topic that all healthcare professionals need to hear.

Physician leadership is critical to success in the evolving healthcare landscape. Medical school and residency training often lack detailed training in skills required to be a physician leader. The goal of this lecture is to help providers understand the criticality of physician leadership for healthcare systems to be successful, the unique skillset required of physician leaders, and to gain a personal understanding of how they can contribute in leadership roles.

Objectives

  1. List at least three skills that physician leaders should have to be successful leaders;
  2. Explain how the role of a physician leader is different than the role of a practicing physician;
  3. Describe the spectrum of leadership opportunities that exists for physicians from the individual practice level to an executive role at a hospital or healthcare system.
