The Southern Medical Journal online

The Southern Medical Journal (SMJ) is our peer reviewed scientific publication, consisting of articles published by Lippincott Wilkins and Williams each month. Physicians, residents, students, academic institutions, and medical researchers all frequent the SMJ online: in 2021, we received 115,308 page views. All articles are indexed within the National Library of Medicine, and link back to the SMJ. As a contributor, your ad will appear on a sidebar that appears across all articles published in each edition of the SMJ.

The SMA Abstracts Archive

With 23,850 page views in 2021, the Abstracts Archive’s audience includes medical school administrators, residency program directors, resident physicians, medical students, and research professionals. The Archive includes abstracts that have been presented at all of our meetings. Donors’ ads appear on a sidebar that appears across all abstracts on the site, allowing for maximum exposure to a diverse audience.

Online CME Library

In 2021, our vast online library of CME courses received 18,550 page views. Hundreds of physicians and advanced care providers explore our catalog every day, both for general education purposes and to maintain necessary certifications. Each course has its own page, but sidebar ads remain constant across all courses.

The Practice of Medicine Podcast

Physicians and advanced care providers listen to The Practice of Medicine podcast to educate themselves on a wide range of topics, including multidisciplinary approaches to patient care and new innovations in medical technology. The Practice of Medicine’s web page received 18,626 page views in 2021, with 5730 unique downloads across 74 episodes. Each episode has its own page, but sidebar ads remain static across all podcast pages, ensuring maximum exposure to the widest possible audience.

The Business of Medicine Podcast

The Business of Medicine podcast is geared towards practice managers, healthcare administrators, physician MBAs, medical informaticists, and anyone who has a hand in managing a group or solo practice. The Business of Medicine’s web page received 18,626 page views in 2021, with 6454 unique downloads across 46 episodes. Each episode has its own page, but sidebar ads remain static across all podcast pages, ensuring maximum exposure to the widest possible audience.

YouTube Channel

All 573 videos on our YouTube Channel are available to anyone who visits — members and non-members alike. Platinum, Gold, and Silver Packages offer opportunities for co-branding, wherein your logo would appear over the top right corner of the page banner, reaching over 4000 subscribers to our premium educational content.

Physicians, residents, and medical students comprise the bulk of our audience for our monthly webinar series. Every month, specialists from diverse disciplines share their research and experiences with their peers in the medical community. As a sponsor, your company’s logo will appear on all promotional materials related to the webinar series; your company will also be recognized and listed as a sponsor.

SMA Annual Scientific Assembly 

The Scientific Assembly is SMA’s flagship conference, held every year since the association's inception in 1906 (with a single, understandable exception for the 1918 flu pandemic). The three-day event includes:

  • Board and member meetings
  • The annual Moreton Lecture, an annual honor bestowed on a distinguished physician from within our ranks
  • A full slate of featured speakers from a variety of specialties
  • The Regional Abstract Competition, where the next generation of physicians present their research
  • The inauguration of our new president for a one-year term

Physicians and healthcare professionals from all types of disciplines — and from all over the country — convene every year. Between 50 and 75 residents and physicians attend, as well as 50 to 75 medical students in their 3rd and 4th years.
