Goals and Objectives
The evaluation of GI bleeding, especially in complex, elderly individuals, requires a team approach. Evaluation and treatment algorithms are rapidly changing. Through very interactive and practical case presentations, the goal is to update the primary care provider to assist with selection of the best possible alternatives. At the conclusion of the session, learners should be better prepared to:
- Examine the risk factors that lead to GI bleeding;
- Describe the limitations of colonoscopy;
- Utilize “Alarm Symptoms” when evaluating patients.
