Special Joint Symposium of SMA & the Carolinas-Georgia-Florida Chapter of the American Society of Hypertension: Improving the Lives of Southern Patients

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education(ACCME) through the joint providership of Southern Medical Association and the Carolinas-Georgia-Florida Chapter of the American Society of Hypertension.

Southern Medical Association designates this Live activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Board of Internal Medicine - Maintenance of Certification Knowledge Points

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 6.75 MOC knowledge points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Other Healthcare Professionals

Continuing education requirements vary from state to state. Many national accrediting organizations, such as AAPA, ANCC, AANPCP, as well as state boards, recognize ACCME-approved AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM and these credits may be used as such toward continuing education requirements.

Upon completion of attendance attestation and evaluation, all non-physician professional attendees will receive a certificate of attendance stating that these conferences are certified for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. It is the responsibility of each professional attendee to understand the requirements for license renewal.  SMA encourages all attendees to contact their state or national licensing board(s) and/or professional organization(s) to become familiar with their policies for acceptable continuing education credit.
