A New Concept of Noncoronary Precordial Pain

Authors: SHEA HALLE, M.D.

Abstract

Pain referred to the precordium offers a common diagnostic problem, particularly so in the patient suffering from heart disease, either presently or in one who has had coronary closure. Especially is this true in the person who has “heart consciousness,” and anxiety about heart disease. The author's thoughts concerning the etiology and pathogenesis of noncoronary pain are interesting and should provoke thought- and observations by other clinicians.
