Authors: SAMUEL T. MOORE M.D., RICHARD A. STORTS M.D., JACK D. SPENCER M.D.

Abstract

The authors consider the course of healing of such fractures in adults in terms of variations of “open” or “closed” fractures, type of immobilization, whether by usual methods or by metallic support applied at operation. They conclude that such fractures do better when managed as “closed.”
