Specializing in Being Human

Authors: JOHN G. BRUHN, PhD

Abstract

Advancements in science and technology have provided us with the ability to deliver the most sophisticated health care in the world. Yet health professionals have come to rely on technology to such a degree that it is intruding on the doctor-patient relationship. An effective, comprehensive system for delivering health care should include ways of helping patients keep their health, not only to regain it once it is lost. Health professionals will need to assist not only their patients, but the public as well, to keep their health.
