Authors: CASIMIRO C. GARCIA Jr., MD, RICHARD C. BORONOW, MD

Abstract

In an evaluation of the factors that influence prognosis in this disease, the authors demonstrate that the size of the primary lesion, its histologic characteristics and the presence or absence of metastatic disease of lymph nodes are very important. They additionally emphasize the importance of dissection of lymph nodes in the surgical management of this malignancy.
