Clinical Applications of Diagnostic Ultrasound in Abdominal Malignancy

Abstract

This new diagnostic tool has been used to good effect in several special fields of diagnoses. This paper reveals its potential in the demonstration of abdominal masses and lesions. The author considers its contribution to the diagnosis of tumors, to the planning of treatment, especially of irradiation, and in following the response to treatment and showing recurrence of disease. He indicates that additional steps are needed to perfect its effectiveness.
