Hemoglobin and Packed Cell Volume in Negro and Caucasian Subjects A Comparative Study

Authors: KARL L. BARKLEY M.D., DAN A. MARTIN M.D., ROBERT R. HUNTLEY M.D., T. FRANKLIN WILLIAMS M.D., BERNARD G. GREENBERG Ph.D., KERR L. WHITE M.D.

Abstract

The authors have thought there is need for a controlled comparison of these values for the two races. As a baseline they have established no appreciable difference in the PCV. Any difference found in hemoglobin concentration in Negro outpatients probably is dependent on socio- environmental factors.
