Abstract

AbstractThe olfactory neuroblastoma is an uncommon malignant tumor, comprising 11/2% to 3% of all nasal tumors. Because of its small-celled appearance, it has been misdiagnosed frequently. The histologie subclassifications of this rumor apparently have no correlation with the clinical course of the disease. Three cases are presented which represent the spectrum of this uncommon neoplasm. Treatment consists of surgical excision (including excision of the cribriform plate) with a split-thickness skin graft repair and, in selected cases, postoperative radiotherapy.
