Peripheral Neuropathy With Hypophosphatemia in a Patient Receiving Intravenous Hyperalimentation
Abstract
SUMMARYWe have described a patient receiving intravenous hyperalimentation in whom hypophosphatemia resulted in a neurologic syndrome characterized by ophthalmoplegia, ataxia, and areflexic paralysis of all extremities, requiring respiratory assistance. We have discussed pertinent literature related to neurologic dysfunction as a result of hypophosphatemia.This content is limited to qualifying members.
