Problems in Pyelonephritis

Authors: CHEVES McC. SMYTHE, M.D.

Abstract

That pyelonephritis is a serious disease is universally accepted. However, it is a disease about which there is much controversy with respect to the weight to be accorded to bacteriuria, anatomic and physiologic abnormalities of the lower genitourinary tract, symptomatology and apparent results of therapy. This Symposium reviews the knowledge which has accumulated, though many answers are still not forthcoming.
