Radiologic Accuracy in Evaluating Congenital Heart Disease in the Young Child

Authors: BARRY GERALD, MD, DAVID CLIFTON, MD

Abstract

In the infant and young child, the presence of heart disease is often difficult to distinguish from disorders involving the pulmonary system. This study shows that the presence of cardiac disease in children less than 2 years of age can be ruled in or out with a high degree of accuracy by radiographic means.
