Abstract

Every family physician, every pediatrician and every psychiatrist faces periodically the child who has a phobia about school which may seriously interfere with his education. For practical purposes it is a physician who will need to make the decisions and advise the family as to how to meet the dilemma. This paper outlines the psychodynamics of the school phobia and steps which may be taken in an attempt to resolve it.
