“Shpos”

Authors: ABBEY STRAUSS MD

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe term “shpos” is popular among residents to describe a demanding and difficult patient. On closer examination, a shpos primarily reflects the clash of various narcissistic needs between the resident and his difficult patient. This paper presents several specific observations about the relationship and a short review of narcissism.
