Vaginal Hysterectomy and Partial Vaginectomy for Carcinoma in Situ of the Uterine Cervix

Abstract

To meet the possibility of recurrence of carcinomatous invasion of the vaginal wall after hysterectomy for carcinoma in situ of the cervix, a technic has been evolved in the hope of minimizing this complication. Following the application of Schiller's stain, an adequately wide vaginal cuff is removed with vaginal hysterectomy. The technic of this operation is described.
