Activity Description

Sparkle Aesthetics offers a Full Day Ultrasound For Aesthetics Course wherein you learn the basics of ultrasound for safe injection practices. In the course we will show you the basics of ultrasound with a focus on practical applications and how to apply this powerful modality that can help minimize complications.

Target Audience

MD, Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Practical Nurse, Surgeon, Registered Nurse, Other

Goals and Objectives

The problem is that in facial aesthetics, there is a general approach to "blind" injections. The physician needs to learn to identify anatomy on ultrasound and target correct facial planes and be able to do guided injections and manage complications using ultrasound.

At the conclusion of the activity, learners should be better prepared to:

  • Differentiate fat, vessels, and bone appearance on ultrasound
  • Properly hold and visualize using a handheld ultrasound
  • Target structures with a needle and a cannula on ultrasound using phantoms (animal/silicone models)
  • Utilize vascular mapping for filler injections
