Multifocal Intrahepatic Abscesses Demonstrated on Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiogram

Authors: DAVID V. JELASO MD, JAN S. HIRSCHFIELD MD

Abstract

Abstract: A case of intrahepatic abscesses demonstrated as multifocal collections of contrast material on percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography is illustrated. The method occasionally may provide useful information about the hepatic parenchyma, as in this case. Percutaneous transhepatic chotangiography therefore should be considered for the elucidation of sepsis in the jaundiced patient.
