Soft Tissue Sarcomas: Electron Microscopic Approach to Histogenetic Classification

Authors: V A STEMBRIDGE, M.D., F J LUIBEL, M.D., C T ASHWORTH, M.D.

Abstract

The histopathologic classification of neoplasms of mesenchymal origin is often difficult. In the application of the technic of electron miscroscopy the authors have shown that frequently the malignant cells retain the characteristics of the normal cells from which they have been derived. This is a step forward in the study of such neoplasms.
