Education Planning Committee
The planning committee members assess proposals that offer development ideas for the benefit of the healthcare community and SMA members. Committee members take into consideration the needs of education/training by reviewing activity outcome summaries, recent completed studies and journal articles. When making decisions, that takes into account a wide range of factors, including community healthcare concerns and pressing national priorities. The role of the committee is to define the theme of the education, determine topics and content, invite guest planners and recruit speakers. The format is determined by the best way to offer learners the opportunity to engage in education. The committee is accountable for designing and coordinating the educational and non-educational activities that define the CME Program and SMA’s Mission. The committee assists the SMA Education Committee with its responsibilities for SMA’s mission, vision and strategic direction.
The planning committee is responsible for developing, modifying and evaluating the strategic plan/goals and objectives of the CME Program.
