Overview & Purpose
The purpose of the Reimbursing for Auxiliary Personnel Services: Exploring the New Medicare Billing Codes Course is to provide:
- Understand how auxiliary personnel, including CHWs, deliver services to address health-related social needs tied to clinical diagnoses to improve patient outcomes.
- Understand the basics of how auxiliary personnel services can be reimbursed using the CMS 2025 Physician Fee Schedule for:
- Community Health Integration (CHI) Services
- Principal Illness Navigation (PIN) Services
- Principal Illness Navigation – Peer Support (PIN-PS) Services
- Motivate auxiliary personnel to advocate for sustainability in partnerships with health systems and providers to take advantage of the new Medicare billing codes for CHI, PIN, and PIN-PS.
