Real-World Evaluation of a Chest Pain Digital Triage Platform at the Point of Care
A problem in health care is the lack of access to care and the inability of patients to self-triage and self-evaluate. The use of a digital platform can help reduce emergency department visits and help guide patients to the best place to obtain care such as an urgent care, primary care office, specialist, or the emergency department.

Goals and Objectives
A problem in health care is the lack of access to care and the inability of patients to self-triage and self-evaluate. The use of a digital platform can help reduce emergency department visits and help guide patients to the best place to obtain care such as an urgent care, primary care office, specialist, or the emergency department. The triple aim of population health focuses on providing the right care to the right patient at the right time. Patient use of digital health tools may reduce the overuse of emergency services. We tested the safety and clinical applicability of a patient-facing, automated digital urgent care triage tool (UCTT) for patients with chest pain.
At the conclusion of the activity, learners should be better prepared to:
- Anticipate, develop, and implement computerized processes to triage, diagnose, and treat patients with conditions for which well-developed evidence-based guidelines for diagnosis and therapeutic management exist such as evaluation and management of acute chest pain.
