Dr. G. Waldon Garriss, III, Elected as President-Elect Designate
The Southern Medical Association (SMA) is pleased to announce that G. Waldon Garriss, III, MD, MS, MBA, MHA, has been elected as President-Elect Designate.
The SMA membership recently voted and Dr. Garriss will serve as the 2025 President-Elect Designate and will begin his term during SMA's Annual Scientific Assembly November 13-15, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Currently Chair of SMA's Education Committee, Dr. Garriss will serve as the Association’s President in 2027-2028.
"Dr. Garriss has been a dedicated leader within SMA, consistently advancing our mission through his service on the Education Committee and his commitment to mentoring the next generation of medical professionals," noted SMA Executive Director Randy Glick.
