Dr. Philip Hartman, MD, Elected as President-Elect Designate

The Southern Medical Association (SMA) is pleased to announce that Philip Hartman, MD, has been elected as President-Elect Designate.

The SMA membership recently voted and Dr. Hartman will serve as the 2026 President-Elect Designate and will begin his term during SMA's Annual Scientific Assembly November 6-7, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Dr. Hartman will serve as the Association’s President in 2028-2029.

“Dr. Hartman has long been a dedicated leader within SMA, generously contributing his time, experience, and perspective in support of our Association and its members,” noted SMA Executive Director Randy Glick. “His continued commitment to SMA’s mission, its members, and the future of the organization makes him exceptionally well suited to serve once again in this important leadership role.”
