Sangeetha Isaac, MD, Appointed to SMA’s Education Committee
The Southern Medical Association (SMA) is pleased to announce that Sangeetha Isaac, MD, has been appointed to the Association’s Education Committee.
Dr. Isaac is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Missouri, specializing in genitourinary oncology. She completed her Hematology and Oncology fellowship at East Carolina University and has trained and practiced in India, Singapore, and the United States, providing her with a broad perspective on medical education and physician training across diverse healthcare systems.
Throughout her career, Dr. Isaac has been actively involved in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows through bedside teaching, didactic instruction, curriculum development, mentorship, and scholarly activities. She has a particular interest in creating accessible, high-quality educational experiences that encourage professional growth and lifelong learning.
Dr. Isaac also serves as Chair of SMA’s IMG Support & Advocacy Ad Hoc Committee, where she has helped lead the development of educational and mentoring initiatives for international medical graduates, including the Fellowship Forward Mentorship Program and Residency Forward educational series.
