Global Health Lessons from a District Hospital

Authors: Masahiro J. Morikawa, MD, MPH

Abstract

An increasing number of residents, fellows, and medical students are engaging in global health activities during their training in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Their clinical activities often are in district hospitals and they are more likely to encounter adult patients with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) than infectious diseases on the wards.
