Heart Failure in the 21st Century
This interesting article by Drs. Velagaleti and Vasan attempts to elucidate the contribution of hypertension and coronary artery disease to heart failure. The authors rightly conclude that there is considerable overlap between the two as etiologies for heart failure. Each can contribute to the other, as well, and heart failure is often the result of a failure in treating the individual etiologies adequately.
