Abstract

The Swedish International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment (INAHTA)http://www.inahta.org/inahta_web/index.asp seeks to “.. inform health policy makers by using the best scientific evidence on the medical, social, economic and ethical implications of investments in healthcare. Technology is broadly defined to include the drugs, devices, medical and surgical procedures used in healthcare, as well as measures for prevention and rehabilitation of disease.” Under the HTA tab they describe the sections “Early Warning Systems,” “Skills Development Program,” and “Reports.” Established in 1993, INAHTA has now grown to 45 member agencies from 23 countries. The Network stretches from North and Latin America to Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The database is managed by INAHTA in collaboration with the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD) in the UK, and in the USA with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the Veterans Affairs Technology Assessment Program (VA TAP).
