Non-Q-Wave Acute Anterior Myocardial Infarction Associated with 5-Fluorouracil and Cisplatin Chemotherapy
Abstract
To the Editor:
It is known that the toxic effects of chemotherapeutic agents used in cancer therapy affect mainly the bone marrow and the digestive tract, and to a lesser extent they can cause cardiotoxicity. We report the case of a patient with squamous cell carcinoma of neck who presented with an acute anterior non-Q myocardial infarction after combination chemotherapy with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and cisplatin.
