Stanley (Stan) G. Harris, Ph.D.

Stanley (Stan) G. Harris, Ph.D. (The University of Michigan) is Associate Dean for Graduate & International Programs and Luck Professor in the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University. Dr. Harris provides leadership for Harbert’s fulltime, online, executive (EMBA), and physicians executive MBA (PEMBA) programs. Dr. Harris will be speaking on Leading and Motivating Change at the upcoming SMA Southern Regional Assembly, October 31 - November 2 in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Harris' talk will discuss how, as healthcare leaders and practitioners, you are expected to change to meet demands or capitalize on opportunities.

Previously, Stan directed the PEMBA program for 12 years and the PhD program in Management for 17. Stan's primary area of research is managing organizational change and transformation. His article on creating readiness for change has been cited over 1,900 times. In 2018, he received the Harbert College’s “Best All-Around Faculty” award. He works with organizations to help plan and facilitate large-scale strategic change efforts. In his talk, the attendee will explore the five key concerns that underlie individuals’ decisions to resist, comply with, or support changes and examine them in their own context.
