Steven Strode, MD, MEd, MPH: Education Committee Chair

Dr. Strode is a family physician who has worked in private practice, academia, and government service. His undergraduate degree is from Southern Methodist University and his medical degree is from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He has a Masters in Adult Education from the University of Arkansas Little Rock and a Masters in Public Health from Tulane.

Dr. Strode has been involved in CME production for many years and chaired CME accreditation committees for the Arkansas Medical Society and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). He was elected by his SMA member colleagues from the state of Arkansas to serve in the SMA Councilor position for 2009-2014 and he has continued to be an active leader participating on committees and as a program reviewer.

Dr. Strode and his wife Peggy, who has a BSRN from Baylor and Diagnostic Sonography training from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, have two children and six grandchildren. They have lived in the Little Rock area since 1974. Dr. Strode loves to read and to teach within his Church.
