The BUSINESS of Medicine Simplified

February 5, 2019 // Randy Glick

Business of Medicine issues are now forefront in the minds of physicians. In the high stakes game of today’s health care, physician leaders must successfully navigate a constantly changing and complex business environment to ensure their practice or organization’s survival.

With the introduction of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA), all physicians were pushed to participate in new models of care and the subsequent changes to those models. The economic pressures to reduce cost while increasing quality continue to intensify across practice environments. Addressing contentious issues such as salary, incentives, relative performance, metrics, and contract negotiations are essential.

Staying ahead of the game requires constant knowledge enhancement in business administration and healthcare technology. Suffice it to say, all of this takes away from the enjoyment of practicing medicine.

At SMA, we understand. This is why we developed the Business of Medicine Simplified program – to help you simplify the business, so you can enjoy the practice.
