Virtual Abstract Competition

Southern Medical Association’s Virtual Abstract Competition offers medical students, residents, and fellows from all over the country an opportunity to compete for an opportunity to present their projects at the Association’s annual conference. This is a preliminary competition with the top 10 oral presentations and the top 10 poster presentations from this virtual event advancing and presenting in person at SMA’s Annual Scientific Assembly.

2025 Virtual Abstract Competition

Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows are eligible to submit an abstract for this event held August 6-7, 2025.
This is an online only event.

The Top 20 winners (Top 10 oral presenters and the Top 10 poster presenters) will advance to a final live competition held during the
Southern Medical Association's Annual Scientific Assembly on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Deadline for submissions is June 13, 2025
