Help Shape the Next Generation of Physicians as a PIT Mentor
The Southern Medical Association (SMA) is pleased to reintroduce the SMA Physicians-In-Training (PIT) Mentoring Program, an initiative that aims to foster development and growth of both established physician or physician-in-training mentors and physician-in-training mentees through promoting genuine, long-term relationships among individuals with differing levels of experience in the medical field.
This program pairs medical students and/or residents with experienced mentors—including current fellows, junior faculty, and senior residents who have successfully matched—to provide structured guidance, practical insights, and personalized support. Through this mentorship, participants will gain greater clarity, strengthen their applications, and build confidence as they pursue their next step in their medical journey.
