100 Words: SMA President Dr. David Netscher’s September Message

The members, the mission—who better to narrate mission accomplishment than Cady Coleman, retired NASA astronaut and U.S. Air Force colonel? We see the end product, from lift-off to safe return, but do not always appreciate preparation and cogs in the wheel that accomplish the mission. SMA’s standing committees include Education, Burn Planning, Physicians-in-Training, and Awards and Scholarships, with the IMG Support & Advocacy Ad Hoc Committee and initiatives including SMA Connect, Residency and Fellowship Forward Programs, and Mentoring. Our members are our strength through connection, contribution, and commitment. Please continue advancing SMA’s mission and vision through participation and leadership.
