Activity Description
This program explores current national perspectives and evidence-based strategies for managing pain and substance use disorders. Presenters will share insights regarding addiction medicine, and palliative care to help clinicians balance effective pain relief with minimizing addiction risk. Emphasis will be placed on compassionate, team-based, and ethical approaches to patient care.
Target Audience
This conference is designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Goals and Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
- Apply clinical insights from addiction medicine to balance effective pain relief with the prevention of misuse or dependency, using evidence-based strategies and team-based approaches for managing patients with chronic pain.
- Incorporate principles of compassionate, evidence-based palliative care to improve patient comfort, communication, and ethical decision-making in the management of acute and chronic pain.
