The Southern Medical Association and Clinical Care Options (CCO) are partnering on a CME/CE-certified educational program titled, “Insights on Practical Management of Type 2 Diabetes and Associated Cardiovascular Risk.” The 3-part Webinar series will run from October through December 2018. The program will feature important topics related to the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes (T2DM), including evidence-based strategies for preventing T2DM in patients at risk, determination of individualized A1C goals, avoidance of hypoglycemia, and reduction of cardiovascular risk factors. This interactive online program will feature expert faculty discussion, embedded slides designed to reinforce key data, and dynamic online polling.
In addition, each live Webinar will be recorded and made available on demand as a CME/CE-certified enduring program via the CCO Diabetes Web site.
“We are honored to be partnering with SMA and look forward to engaging with clinicians throughout the South to help them navigate the challenges of managing patients with T2DM and associated cardiovascular risk factors.”
- Alyce Kuklinski, NP, RN, General Manager, Internal Medicine, CCO
“Southern Medical Association is very excited to work with CCO to advance the care of patients with or at risk for T2DM. Designed as an interdisciplinary initiative, this program targets the specific needs and challenges of clinicians practicing in the US diabetes belt,” says Randy Glick, Executive Director. “This collaboration also supports SMA’s mission to improve quality of care for patients in the southeastern region of the United States. The prevalence of T2DM and cardiovascular disease, coupled with fewer care providers in our regions of focus, makes this type of project much more meaningful. We are very grateful to be a part of this effort.”
“We are honored to be partnering with SMA and look forward to engaging with clinicians throughout the South to help them navigate the challenges of managing patients with T2DM and associated cardiovascular risk factors,” adds Alyce Kuklinski, NP, RN, General Manager, Internal Medicine, CCO.
