Dr. Sangeetha Isaac is a final-year Hematology and Oncology fellow at East Carolina University. She serves as Chair of the IMG Support & Advocacy Committee of the Southern Medical Association and is a member of the ASCO Trainee and Early Career Advisory Group (TECAG). She also serves as an ASCO mentor for mock interviews. Dr. Isaac is actively involved in mentorship, medical education, and leadership initiatives supporting international medical graduates. Through the Fellowship Forward program, she guides residents on the fellowship application process, with a particular focus on crafting effective personal statements. Her academic interests include oncology research and medical education, emphasizing meaningful mentorship for trainees.

Dr. Mohammed Afraz Pasha is an Internal Medicine hospitalist at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington, North Carolina. He received his medical degree from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in India and practiced as an Emergency and Internal Medicine physician in the United Kingdom. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at North Alabama Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident. Dr. Pasha serves on the Education Committee of the Southern Medical Association and is actively engaged as a peer reviewer, conference moderator, and abstract competition judge. He is dedicated to physician education, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Dr. Shimika Rasha is an Internal Medicine hospitalist that has been working at ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville, North Carolina, since 2019. She was born and raised in Kuwait and graduated from a medical school in Bangladesh where her parents are originally from. She moved to USA in 2013 to pursue Masters in Public Health (MPH). After completion of MPH, she started her Internal Medicine residency at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine regional campus at Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale. She is passionate about hospital medicine, as she enjoys acute problem-solving, achieving immediate impact in patient care, team-based collaborative work, connecting with patients during their pivotal times, the shift schedule and the fast paced environment.

Dr. Yamini Alla is a dedicated hospitalist who is passionate about high-quality patient care. Born in India, she developed discipline and teamwork through competitive sports. After completing residency at BronxCare Health System in New York, she has worked as a locum tenens and in PSA roles across institutions. She brings valuable insights into hospital medicine and supports fellow clinicians with practical knowledge

Dr. Majid Toseef Aized is a board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon with over 20 years of clinical experience, currently practicing at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and has extensive expertise in the management of peripheral vascular disease and complex endovascular interventions. Dr. Aized completed his medical training at Nishtar Medical College and his surgical residency at Wayne State University/DMC, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dr. Aized is deeply committed to mentoring medical students and international medical graduates. He has actively supported aspiring physicians in navigating training and career pathways in the United States.

Dr. Zarak Khan is a dedicated educator and speaker. He completed his medical education at Shifa College of Medicine in Islamabad, Pakistan, followed by his residency training at Trinity Health in Livonia, Michigan, and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at East Carolina University Health in Greenville, North Carolina. He currently serves as Assistant Professor at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, Virginia.

Dr. Siddharth Chinta is a Cardiology Fellow at East Carolina University (ECU). He obtained his MBBS at JJM Medical College in Karnataka and a master’s in public health from the University of Massachusetts. He completed his Internal Medicine training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/Bronx. He is passionate about interventional and endovascular cardiology, with a specific focus on circulatory shock/percutaneous mechanical circulatory support and high-risk PCI.

Dr. Harminder Vohra is an Assistant Professor of Geriatric Medicine at UAB Birmingham. She finished her residency in Internal Medicine from Florence AL. Dr. Vohra has dedicated her career to improving the care of older adults. Her work focuses on patient-centered approaches, and she is passionate about guiding the next generation of physicians to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to older adults and mentoring as they develop their skills and confidence in geriatric care.
