SMA Launches Fellowship Forward Mentorship Program Through IMG Support & Advocacy Committee Subcommittee

SMA is pleased to introduce the Fellowship Forward Mentorship Program, a new initiative from the IMG Support & Advocacy Committee’s Mentorship and Networking Subcommittee designed to support international medical graduate (IMG) residents as they navigate the highly competitive fellowship application process.

This program pairs IMG residents with experienced mentors—including current fellows, junior faculty, and senior residents who have successfully matched—to provide structured guidance, practical insights, and personalized support. Through this mentorship, participants will gain greater clarity, strengthen their applications, and build confidence as they pursue fellowship opportunities.
