Assembly Faculty Spotlight: Stefan C. Grant, MD, JD, MBA, FACP

The Southern Medical Association (SMA) is proud to feature Stefan C. Grant, MD, JD, MBA, FACP, as a speaker for the Association's 117th Annual Scientific Assembly taking place November 13-15, 2025 in New Orleans.

Dr. Stefan C. Grant is Chief of the Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Tulane University School of Medicine, as well as Deputy Director of the Tulane Cancer Center and the Louisiana Cancer Research Center. Board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Grant earned his medical degree in South Africa and trained both there and in the U.K. before completing residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center and a fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. He previously held academic and leadership roles at Wake Forest and UAB, where he helped lead clinical trial operations and served as director of intellectual property strategy. In addition to holding a J.D. from Fordham and being a registered patent attorney, Dr. Grant earned an MBA from UAB. His research focuses on immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and pragmatic trials in lung cancer. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a former member of the AACI Clinical Research Innovation Steering Committee.
