Abstract

THE ASSOCIATION of infections caused by Clostridium septicum and malignancy has been reported previously. The source of the organism usually is considered to be the patient's own gastrointestinal tract regardless of the type of malignancy. This is a case report of a primary adenocarcinoma of the colon presenting as a rapidly spreading and ultimately fatal soft tissue infection of the left thigh.
