Aortoiliac Occlusive Disease: Fifteen Years' Operative Experience

Authors: RICHARD H. DEAN, MD, JOHN H. FOSTER, MD

Abstract

A 15-year retrospective review of 141 cases of aortoiliac occlusive disease is reported. In general, early results are excellent for knitted Dacron grafts. A better result with knitted Dacron grafts is seen when compared with thromboendarterectomy. Greater protection against late failure with end-to-end graft aortic anastomosis is shown, although it is associated with a higher operative mortality.
