Abstract

ABSTRACT: We present our six-year experience with apheresis in a community hospital in northern Virginia. A total of 2,892 procedures were done, including 2,232 thrombocytaphereses on normal donors for collection of platelets and 660 therapeutic plasma exchanges in patients having a variety of disorders. We hope our experience will be helpful to those who contemplate setting up similar programs.
