Barium-Burger Roentgen Study for Unrecognized, Clinically Significant, Gastric Retention

Authors: HOWARD F. RASKIN, MD

Abstract

The author finds that the combined use of lean hamburger and barium is a valuable method for demonstrating gastric or duodenal retention, even though the usual gastrointestinal series has shown no abnormality. This nonfluoroscopic examination involves a series of films made at specified intervals of time.
