Blastomycosis as Encountered in the Practice of Otolaryngology

Abstract

Blastomycosis probably occurs more frequently than is suspected. Certainly it must be kept in mind in chronic pulmonary disease in which the organisms of tuberculosis cannot be demonstrated, as well as in other granulomatous lesions. As appears in the discussion, the new antibiotic, amphotericin B, seems to have provided another agent in the treatment of this disease.
