Authors: RAUL CHABALI MD, RALPH E. HAYNES MD

Abstract

ABSTRACTDeath occurs in a small but significant percentage of patients with Kawasaki syndrome. Cardiovascular involvement is the major cause of death, which may be delayed and sudden. Much has been written about diagnosis and medical and surgical therapy. We reviewed the current understanding of this disease and its cardiovascular manifestations and offer a diagnostic and therapeutic protocol based on this review.
