Comparison of the Diagnostic Accuracy of Liver Scans, Liver Function Tests and Liver Biopsies

Abstract

Scans seem to be helpful in diagnosing large hepatic lesions. The method is not so successful in differentiating between cirrhosis and metastases. The liver scan is less accurate than needle biopsy and tests of function in diffuse hepatic disease.
