Authors: JERALD L. BLUM, MD

Abstract

A child with limitation of knee flexion and without evidence of intra-articular disease may have a fibrous contracture of the vastus intermedius caused by intramuscular injections of medications irritating to muscle. The condition also may occur due to ischemia of muscle. The contracture can be diminished by surgical treatment.
